We’ve told you about the benefits that come with a raw food diet and that’s great, but I hear you – where’s the proof?

Healthier teeth and fresher breath
Raw diets and diets that contain bone, have been observed to show improved dental health in canines and felines. These animals have teeth that were designed specifically for ripping and tearing flesh from bone and for chewing bone into digestible pieces. Owners who feed their pets a raw diet may see noticeable dental health benefits and (praise) better breath! There also connections that link good dental and oral health with better heart health.
Healthier skin, glossier coats, less shedding and fewer dermatological issues
One of the more perceivable changes that owners may notice in their pets when switching to raw feeding, is a marked improvement of the skin and coat. Skin may become less dry, and the coat may become shinier. Food allergies are a common affliction amongst dogs and pet owners who choose to feed a raw diet are likely to notice that their animal no longer experiences hot spots, itching and skin infections.
Better Digestion
Raw feeding has shown pets (in particular dogs) who consume a balanced raw diet of muscle meat, bone and organs; tend to produce less waste, less frequently. Their stools also improve in consistency and odour – Owners even reported their pet had less flatulence!
Body composition (more muscle, less fat!)
When fed muscle meat, bones and organs in a raw diet, rather than grain/corn-based diets, the carbohydrates and sugar content of your pets diet is lowered. This can have a direct result on your pets’ weight and muscle mass.
